Citizen Science Monitoring Training
09/23/2017 @ 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
FreeOCCA, working in conjunction with the Alliance for Aquatic Resource Monitoring (ALLARM), is launching the first county-wide Citizen Science Water Quality Monitoring Program in the New York portion of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. To become an OCCA Stream Team monitor, join us for this training with ALLARM staff and learn how to measure and record important water quality parameters such as dissolved oxygen, pH, and nutrients. Stream Team monitors will sample an assigned creek monthly for at least one year, and will need to commit approximately 3-5 hours per month to the project. For more information, contact OCCA Executive Director Leslie Orzetti at (607) 547-4488.
