Mud Lake, Riddell State Park
10/14/2017 @ 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
FreeClimb up and over South Hill in Robert V. Riddell State Park with Patricia Riddell Kent and Steve Kent, donors of the park. This 3.5-hour, 4.5-mile hike traverses woods rich in beauty and history, makes a stop at a spectacular, 30-foot waterfall, swings by Mud Lake, a bog at the top of the hill, and continues down to the Pine Lake Campus of Hartwick College. Meet at the Pine Lake Campus on Charlotte Creek Road and carpool to the Robert V. Riddell State Park entrance, hike up and over the hill, and end up back at Pine Lake. Bring sufficient water and a snack or light lunch.
PLEASE NOTE: State Route 28 is closed where it crosses State Route 7. To get to Pine Lake from the north via Route 28, turn right at D.K. Lifgren Drive, then right on State Route 7. In approximately 2.5 miles, turn left at The Farmhouse Restaurant (follow signs to Route 88/28). Cross over Route 88 and the Susquehanna River. In approximately 2 miles, bear left onto County Route 11. In approximately 0.7 miles, turn left onto Charlotte Creek Road. Remain on Charlotte Creek Road for 1.9 miles. Pine Lake will be on the right.
