Learn how to prevent wasted food and save money in these interactive demonstrations. Jim Perillo, Executive Chef at the Otesaga Hotel will discuss how he stretches the menu with things most people throw away. Jim will share samples to taste! Next, Jan Ryder of Cornell Cooperative Extension Schoharie and Otsego Counties will provide a short overview of canning and other food preservation techniques. The session will also include an overview of the scale and impacts of wasted food. This program is free and open to the public as part of the New York State Association for Reduction, Reuse and Recycling’s (NYSAR3) annual conference. Monday, November 4, 7:30-9pm, Iroquois Room, Otesaga Hotel, 60 Lake Street, Cooperstown.
