Snowshoe Hike to Mud Lake
03/04/2017 @ 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
FreeSteve Kent leads a 3.5-hour hike to Mud Lake and back in Robert V. Riddell State Park to kick off our 2017 nature walk series. Highlights of the walk are Steve’s tales of the property before it became a state park, a 30-foot high waterfall, and Mud Lake, a sphagnum bog at the top of the hill. Snowshoes are optional if the snow is not too deep. Provide your own snowshoes and bring water, a snack, and weather-appropriate clothing. Program is free, though pre-registration is requested. Meet on the east side of Gersoni Road, just south of I-88, Exit 17 (watch for a small green sign that reads “State Park Lands”; do not go to the main park entrance on Route 28). Parking is available on the shoulder of Gersoni Road. For more information, contact OCCA Program Director Jeff O’Handley at programdirector@occainfo.org or (607) 547-4488.
