Volunteer Day: Trailblazing at Texas School House State Forest

The Town of New Lisbon, in cooperation with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will be creating a trail system in the 1,245-acre Texas School House State Forest. When completed, the trail will take hikers through a variety of terrain and habitats, including mature woodlands and by a large pond. Volunteers will clear the proposed trail of debris and downed trees using hand tools. All participants are required to sign a DEC volunteer registration form (under 18 requires parental signature) available here: VSAformblank. Wear close-toed work shoes, long pants, a hat, and work gloves. Bring water and insect repellent. Individuals, families, and groups are welcome to join.
