Information presented by the New York State Attorney General's office in conjunction with the American Lung Association explaining how and why backyard burning is much more hazardous than people may think.

"The Hidden Hazards of Backyard Burning"
Created by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, this pamphlet identifies dioxins and other air pollutants produced as a result of burning household waste.

"Recycling: Above and Beyond" *
This brochure from OCCA provides practical alternatives to throwing things away -- from appliances and electronics, to eyeglasses and hearing aids, to tires and tools -- above and beyond Otsego County's recycling programs.

"Starry Nights in Otsego County" *
Details regarding light pollution, with examples of lighting fixtures designed to reduce sky glow, light trespass and glare.

"Information Sheet on Natural Gas Exploration" *

Page one discusses the natural gas exploration and drilling process as it relates to the private and public sectors. Page two includes advice to landowners and contact information regarding various natural gas drilling concerns.

"OCCA Encourages Businesses To Recycle" *

OCCA is encouraging local businesses to recycle by offering two different types of recycling bins at reduced prices.  This flier includes photos of the bins, plus energy saving tips and suggestions for waste reduction in an office setting and in a cafeteria.
