Social Media and Event Planning Internship

Marketing, Administrative Support

Semester, Ongoing: Spring, Fall

Time Requirements:
8 hours per week for 15 weeks

Suggested Major(s):
Communications, Journalism, Marketing or other applicable fields.

Number of Openings:
1 per semester

Review and revise website content as needed; write and post Facebook and Twitter entries; develop new materials for promotion and fundraising; create educational and promotional videos; assist with event planning and execution. The intern will work in close cooperation with the Executive Director. Work to be completed both on and off site.

The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent written communication and computer skills; social media expertise including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.; and be able to work independently as well as in a team setting. Knowledge of WordPress, Smile Box and Mail Chimp a plus; environmental education background and/or interest preferable but not required.

Stipend: Up to $1,000 (contingent upon funding)
