Annual Events

OCCA participates in environmental events to educate the public about important environmental issues within Otsego County. We take advantage of these opportunities to inform the public about its role in the environmental protection and betterment of the county.

A broad spectrum of environmentally focused education opportunities for general public audiences, held annually on or near the traditional Earth Day (April 22) at Milford Central School. In 2020, Earth Festival will be held on Saturday, April 18.

We’re going GREEN! In 2018 we are moving the garage sale into the web. Items will still find a new home, staying out of the landfill, and reducing the purchase of brand new items – reuse is a mainstay of good environmental stewardship.

This event offers a full slate of exhibitors and vendors to provide high quality education focusing on the water quality in our region. The festival offers all the features of an enjoyable occasion – music, art, children’s activities, good food and camaraderie – while providing valuable education about lake protection and regional water quality programs from those who work to protect these resources.  The Otsego Lakes Festival is organized under the umbrella of the Otsego County Water Quality Coordinating Committee.

50th Anniversary Celebration
We’re celebrating our 50th birthday!!!  Stay tune throughout the year for fun facts, history lessons and a Garden Party Celebration.

The OCCA Annual Dinner presents a recap of our accomplishments each year as well as provides a venue for us to recognize those in our community who contribute to the improvement of our environment through the Conservationist of the Year award.
