Blue Trail at Basswood

FreeEstablished as a Reforestation Area by New York State in the 1930s, Basswood Pond State Forest in Burlington is a multi-use forest that includes logging, hiking, fishing, and cross-country skiing. OCCA Program Director Jeff O’Handley leads this easy, 2-mile walk along the blue trail. The hike includes pine plantations, mixed deciduous forests, beaver ponds and streams. Meet at the small parking area on Basswood Road. Basswood Road is approximately 1.5 miles north of the intersection of State Route 80 and County Road 16.
