Short bio of our Guest Speakers:
Cristina Hansen Ruiz and Erik Stengler moved to Cooperstown with their youngest son Toni just over three years ago. They grew up in Spain, but they came to Cooperstown from the UK where they had been teaching in higher education in the city of Bristol. Both have a background in astrophysics. Erik teaches now at the Cooperstown Graduate Program and Cristina is a research assistant at NYCAMH in Fly Creek. They enjoy being outside surrounded by nature, but Cristina is from the Canary Islands, an archipelago with a sub-tropical climate, so having a warm and dry home is a priority for her. When they moved into their house on Grove Street one of their first decisions was to replace the heating system with a geothermal unit.
