Naked Eye Astronomy: The Autumn Sky
11/05/2021 @ 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Join OCCA for an evening of star gazing on November 5 at Mohican Farm in Springfield. The Milky Way will be wonderfully positioned for spectacular viewing. After sky orientation and review of constellations we hope to get a nice view of planets Jupiter and Saturn. The grand prize of the night is finding and seeing M31- The Andromeda Galaxy. A pair of small, lightweight, easily held binoculars is helpful, though not required. Bring a comfortable chair to sit in while viewing, lying on a blanket is fine too though the ground may be cold. Dress warmly.
Hot chocolate and snacks will be available in the workshop after viewing.
Please sign up for this free workshop using the form below. Enrollment is limited to 30 participants.
Have an Astronomy-related question? Submit it in the “Notes for OCCA Staff/Trip Leader” box on the registration form and we’ll try to work it into the presentation.
