Learn the basics of hiking trail maintenance at Arnold Lake State Forest. We’ll cover some of a variety of topics, including rules and regulations, tree trimming, brush removal, minor drainage, and more, and we’ll put our learning into practice on the actual trails. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to sign up to adopt a section of trail in either Arnold Lake State Forest or Basswood Pond State Forest. Note that all participants are required to fill out a New York State individual volunteer application. Meet at the small parking area on Arnold Lake Road. A limited amount of tools will be available to use, or you may bring your own (hand pruners, hand saw, loppers). Use the form below to sign up.
