Trail Volunteer Training
June 17 @ 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

If you enjoy hiking on the many miles of trails in Otsego County’s state forests, maybe you’ll enjoy taking care of them, too! OCCA is seeking volunteers to adopt portions of hiking trails in Basswood Pond, Arnold Lake and Milford State Forests. Join us at Basswood Pond State Forest in Burlington and learn the ins and outs of basic trail maintenance. We’ll cover some of the rules and regulations of working in a state forest and get our hands dirty with practical experience, too! Please register for this free event using the sign-up form below. You will receive a confirmation email as we get closer to the date that includes where to meet and what to bring. This program is being offered in conjunction with Otsego Outdoors.
In addition to the “regular” training portion, we will include a work session to help reclaim a trail through recently cut over portion of the forest. Meet at the Jacobs Road parking lot at Basswood Pond State Forest, Burlington. 42°45’25.1″N 75°07’17.0″W – Google Maps
