Little Thing #31: Plant a tree (or more!)

As the saying goes, the best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago, and the second-best time is now.

Now that we’re here, the best time of year to plant trees is late summer into early fall – think late August into early October. This provides the tree with a chance to take root and grow strong before winter. Ensure you’ve followed the guidance and planting recommendations for the tree(s) you’re planting. Additionally, make sure your tree(s) are protected for the winters, especially within our Zone of 5a!
