Little Thing #34: Switch out your single-use dryer sheets for more sustainable options.

There are many reusable products available that successfully compete with one-time use dryer sheets.

If you’re using dryer sheets, try out one of the following options to make a small change!

Dryer balls: these can come unscented, scented with essential oils, with materials differing from wool to silicone. These are typically reusable for months or years. Their benefits include softening your clothes, adding a fresh scent to your laundry, and displacing clothes in the dryer to reduce drying times!

Tinfoil: while this won’t soften your clothes, one rolled up piece of tinfoil can last months of drying. This method will help reduce drying time and take care of static!

Homemade dryer sheets: following a method of reduce/reuse, you can make your own dryer sheets out of old shirts. Simply cut the desired size, place the scraps in a glass jar with vinegar and your preferred essential oil. When you’re ready to use them, squeeze out the excess liquid and throw the sheets in with your laundry!

Are you currently using any of these alternatives? Are you using something else we didn’t mention? Let us know!!
