Little Thing #35: Go digital!

These days, you are probably getting most things delivered digitally. We have developed one-click systems to avoid getting unwanted physical mail. However, without realizing, you may still be getting significant amounts of mail through the mail system, which increases waste and costs. Do you have a pile of mail that doesn’t seem to go away? Take stock of who is sending you mail – if you can switch to a paperless option – do it!

By going digital, you can easily sort your mail and notices, and you can eliminate “spam” by unsubscribing to things you’re no longer interested in. Going paperless/digital is also more secure, as long as you’re protecting your personal information online.

Here are a few tips to get you started:

  1. Remove yourself from mailing lists
  2. Set a time to purge
  3. Scan documents
  4. Unsubscribe from catalogs
  5. Enroll in electronic billing
  6. Recycle
  7. Go through all mail right away
  8. Switch to digital subscriptions
