Plastic Film Recycling

Did your community’s school participate in this year’s Plastic Film Recycling Challenge? Unlike rigid plastics, film plastic isn’t collected as part of most recycling programs. To combat film plastic waste, OCCA partnered with Otsego County’s Solid Waste and Planning Department to bring you the Plastic Film Recycling Challenge! Schools competed to collect the most film plastic. The winners this year were the students from Gilbersville-Mount Upton Central School District! Keep an eye on the OCCA website for next year’s challenge.

Our work has grown and expanded, but funds are required to continue protecting the environment and educating our community. Our goal is to raise $10,000 by August 31, 2022.
